Hometown: Born and raised in Mankato and now lives in Morgan, MN

What are you most excited for while working with the Explorer Program? I am extremely excited to work with the dynamite staff that we have this year. They are true leaders and going to do great stuff with our explorers.

Why did you want to join the Explorer Program? When I was first asked to be the Explorer Program Coordinator in 2013, I was excited to learn more about the valley. I love the idea of getting students out in the area and learning about the world around them.

Favorite Activities/Hobbies/Interests: Playing with my two children, hiking, nature photography, quilting, and cooking

What is something people may not know about you? I was a cheerleader in high school and college. In college I was on a competitive cheerleading team. I was a flyer — which means I was tossed in the air and held up in cheer stunts. A group of girls and I won a partner stunt competition at the Mall of America.

Best vacation you ever took: I absolutely love to travel! My favorite vacation was one I took by myself to Europe for three weeks. I did travel with a tour group and saw the beauty and culture of Europe! It was so much fun getting to know my tour group and seeing all of the wonderful sights.

Favorite Explorer Program memory: My favorite activity to witness was when our explorers were able to bottle feed calves.  Their faces lit up with excitement and

Favorite childhood movie: This is a difficult question. I think I will have to say Aladdin. I was also obsessed with the Wizard of Oz for years!

Favorite food: Whenever I eat at a new restaurant I always look for a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. They are my absolute favorite!

What else do you want us to know?  I am so very thankful for the opportunities that I have had with the Minnesota Valley History Learning Center!  It has been a rewarding and wild ride so far!
