Besides being great with kids and understanding our Explorers at their level, Mariah is an efficient leader and worker with the MVHLC Explorer Programs. She has been a huge help in the office so far this summer and leads within the Explorer Program as well. This year she has had numerous roles but has done all of them with determination and efficiency!

What are you most excited for while working with the Explorer Program? I am excited to get to know all the new explorers this year! I am also excited to visit the alpaca farm, kayak, and participate in new programs/activities this year!
Why did you want to join the Explorer Program? I originally wanted to join the Explorer Program because I love the outdoors, working with children, and I loved having a camp opportunity as a child. I have had a blast in past years! I am glad to have the opportunity to continue with the Explorer Progra
Favorite Activities/Hobbies/Interests: Sports are definitely my main activities that I love participating in, especially lacrosse and Olympic lifting. I also love the outdoors: rock climbing, kayaking, snow and water skiing, sailing, and hiking. I also love animals!

What was the best vacation you ever took? My trip to New Zealand from December 2014-January 2015!
Favorite camp memory: My favorite camp memory was at Camp Birchwood when I got up wakeboarding for the first time.
Favorite childhood movie: I liked Scooby-Doo movies.
Favorite food: Definitely spinach and artichoke dip!
Is there anything else you would like to tell us about you? I attend college at MSU, Mankato where I am majoring in special education with two minors: one in athletic coaching and the second in recreation, parks, and leisure services.
